Abstract

This book consists of the accepted papers for presentation at the eLBa Science 2008 - The first International Scientific E-Learning Conference »E-Learning Baltics« held in Rostock, Germany in June 18-19, 2008. »E-LearningBaltics« was initiated by both representatives from science and business. It aims at stimulating and supporting exchange between research and application, scientists and practitioners, new ideas and experiences. For this purpose, the conference was divided into three different sections: two pre-conference workshops on specific topics (e-learning for visually impaired people, intercultural training), a theoretically oriented part, »eLBa Science«,and a practice related one, »eLBa Business«. This book contains the 24 full papers selected from 42 submissions of eLBa Science, information from the other eLBa section is available from the eLBa website at www.e-learning-baltics.de. The 2008 conference focused on the topic »e-learning in working processes«. The demand for permanent education and training - life long learning - is by now inherent part of daily job routine. Methods and tools of e-learning can play an important role to meet these demands. The understanding of working processes is not narrowed to job routine only. Also pupils, vocational school students, and university students facing more and more learning situations that force the use of computers for learning, i.e. »e-learning in learning processes«, are considered. Following this, »e-learning in working processes« addresses very divers topics and perspectives, technologies and theories, implementations and evaluations in the fields of computer sciences, pedagogy, psychology, and design.
